Welcome to the Rockin' N Rollin' Rydell High School Class reunion hosted by Vince Fontaine, his fan club and the Rydell High Student Council. Principal Magee welcomes you as the "Alumni Ringtail Glee Club Singers" perform the Alma Mater. After a few brief words we are catapulted back for a not-so-fond walk down memory lane with certain classmates showing why we'd just as soon forget them. At the first day of school, the ultra cool Pink Lady Gang of Rizzo, Jan, Marty and Frenchie meet school newcomer Sandy Dumbrowski. Meanwhile Danny Zuko, leader of the greased back T-Birds, pals with Kenicke, Doody, Roger and Sonny, boasting of a girl he met over the summer. When Rizzo reunites the two, Danny is too cool with the guys to admit that Sandy is the girl.
Kenicke dreams that his new car will be the coolest, fastest and hottest of the hot rods at Rydell. To his pals - it's a hunk of junk. Danny steps in to show how it could be "greased lightning". The Pink Ladies stop by to offer a more clear-eyed view of their dream car, however.
Busy trying to find her way at Rydell, Sandy has decided to try out for cheerleading with head cheerleader and student council vice-president Patty Simcox. Danny tries to make amends for the first day of school by impressing Sandy and trying out for a sports team. After some very important announcements by Principal Magee, we see just how athletic Danny is, much to the dismay of Coach Calhoun.
Doody has been taking guitar lessons all summer, when he plays for the gang he is transformed in to a Rock-n-Roll idol. Frenchie decides to drop out of Rydell to become a beautician while Sandy seeks advice from the Pink Ladies on how to win over Danny. Marty and the girls show her how to "tell a guy what he wants to hear in a letter".
The sight of the big WAXX Records Friday Night Sock Hop Dance Contest is going to be Rydell High! Time for everyone to find dates. The boys' gymnasium shakes and sways, as all the students get ready to dance. Celebrity deejay, Vince Fontaine, judges the contest where everyone gets down - especially Eugene Florszyc. In a missed step Danny and Rizzo are declared the winning couple - to the dismay of Sandy and Kenicke.
Danny is still trying to impress Sandy and finds his true sport as principal Magee makes more announcements. Meanwhile, the gang is hangin' out at their favorite spot - The Burger Palace. Frenchie dropped out of Rydell, but is doing even worse at Beauty School. What's a girl to do? Her Teen Angel appears and offers some helpful advice.
Sandy figures out what she must do about Danny with a little help from Rizzo and Frenchie returns to Rydell. Danny and Sandy get together and realize they've been trying to impress each other, while it's each other they want. The gangs all together in a happy-ever-after ending that shows, well, that's the way it should be!

| Ryan Townsley and I were so boney as dance partners that we bruised each other by our bones rubbing together. Besides that, all I have to say is Craig Hermes and Jen Bledsoe, and memories enough for us all emerge. | ---Jill (Holland) Paterson |
